Privacy policy

In short

• Your data is used only to make Valia work for you and your household.
• No advertising, no resale, no profiling.
• No third-party services: no bank connection, no audience measurement tool, no advertising SDK.
• You can delete your account and your data at any time, from the app.

Data controller

Dealmood Solutions, publisher of Valia. Processing complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Data processed

• Account — email address, first name, last name, canton (optional). Your password is never stored in plain text (encrypted hash).
• Financial data you enter — accounts and balances, transactions, budgets, expected income, expenses and insurance, savings goals.
• Swiss modules, if you use them — health insurance (premiums, deductible, bills), pillar 3a (plans and contributions), tax profile (tax estimate).
• Household members — first name, optional email (for an invitation), optional year of birth for children.
• Technical data — sign-in and error logs, needed for the security of the service.

Valia does not ask for an adult's date of birth, a phone number or bank details.

Mobile app

• Permissions — internet access (to reach the Valia service) and notifications (due-date reminders, optional: you can decline them).
• Notifications — they are scheduled on your phone, with no third-party notification service.
• Sign-in — session tokens are kept in the phone's secure storage (Android Keystore, iOS Keychain) and excluded from backups.
• The app does not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera.

Purposes

• Providing you with budget tracking: dashboard, end-of-month forecast, alerts.
• Sharing the budget with the household members you invite.
• Sending you emails related to your account (address confirmation, forgotten password, invitations, summaries).
• Keeping accounts secure (preventing unauthorised access).
• Producing aggregated, anonymous statistics to improve Valia: the team never sees your amounts.

Who sees your data?

The household members you invite, according to their role. No data is sold or disclosed to third parties, except where required by law. Only our technical providers for hosting and email delivery process data on our behalf, solely to run the service.

Hosting and security

All communications are encrypted (HTTPS) and access to a household is restricted to its members.

Retention period

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account immediately erases the household you are responsible for and all its data. Technical logs are kept only for as long as strictly necessary for security.

Cookies and local storage

On the website, a single cookie, needed for your sign-in session; your theme choice (light or dark) is remembered in your browser. No advertising or audience measurement cookies.

Children

Valia is intended for adults. Children do not have an account: only their first name and, if you wish, their year of birth are entered by the parent responsible for the household, to tailor the family budget.

Changes to this policy

If there is a significant change, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.

Your rights

• Access and rectification — all your data can be viewed and edited in the app; you can also write to us.
• Erasure — “Plus” (More) › “Supprimer mon compte” (Delete my account) in the app, or on request (see the Delete my account page).
• If you disagree, you can contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
